Restock and discount at ryouki

by Will da beast

One of our favourite shops, ryöüki in Oxford, is about to receive a large restock of Second Son goods in time for this weekend. To celebrate they’re kindly offering a 10% discount on our products for all customers who print out the flyer above (also on their blog) and bring it into the store before the 30th September. I was going to say something about the dope range of shoes they have for sale but I probably shouldn’t since I’d rather you spent your hard-earned scrilla on Second Son obviously - but suffice to say that they’re one of the UK’s best premium sneaker shops. Wait till you see their own shoe they have coming out soon as well, it’ll match up beautifully with a brand new Second Son tee…

Enough to make a wigga go craaaaazy

by Will da beast

Jay’s mate Mark Jackson from Slam has just put his latest podcast up for download. It’s a recording of his set from the Slam vs Document +1 magazine party, and it’s all mid-90s hip-hop which basically equals consistent bangers unless you’re an R Kelly or Celine Dion fan (wait a second, who isn’t?). It’s got OC on it who memorably once displayed his theological ignorance by claiming he gets “respect due like the Pope in a synagogue”… nice. Get your nod on here.

Mark Ward’s ‘Hand Rendered Hype’ exhibition

by Will da beast

Second Son pal and occasional partner in booze Mark Ward is putting on an exhibition called ‘Hand Rendered Hype’ at Slam City Skates from 14th August till 4th September, in conjunction with our foot-fetishistic friends at Crooked Tongues. On some Troy Maclure type isht, you may recognise Mark from his work for Stussy, Gimme 5, Nike, Medicom and various other brands familiar to the street fashionistas out there. Luckily despite this success he hasn’t turned into a douchebag (yet…) so please head down to Slam for the launch on the 14th if you’re in the Big Smoke. Mark had been screenprinting for 14 hours straight when he sent me this flyer so expect a lot of new work… click the pic for details.

New US stockists

by Will da beast

America has given us many brilliant things over the years such as cheeseburgers, fake breasts, skateboarding, childhood obesity, monster trucks, cowboy films, Evel Knievel, unpopular foreign policy, and ‘Saved by the Bell’. So it’s with pleasure and pride that we announce that we’re now giving a little bit back across the pond. We’ve been stocked at New Jersey’s finest skate shop Division East for a while now, and the latest additions to the roster are Jeff Staple’s famed store The Reed Space in NYC and the mighty art/culture/clothing boutique Pedestrian in Philly. Yee-haw!

Unreleased Biggie Smalls Album

by Puffy4President

This one’s good. A website is offering a download of original versions of Biggie songs that didn’t make albums because of uncleared samples and all that shit.

Now I’m assuming this one is red-hot illegal, so let me make this clear: This is an awful website and at no-point should you go there and download these unreleased songs for free. You should let them rot where they belong.

P.S. Tell your friends to do the same.
