We’ve got together with the good folks who run the I heart parties. This month we’re going to be taking over the Macbeth, giving away a load of T-shirts, putting on a free BBQ and then throwing the mother of all ho-downs.
Dubstep and dance from Second Son poster boys Noisses and DMC Champion DJ Beware. Rock, 90s hip hop and general dirt from Zuul, Tropical Tits and William Steel. We’re told that he’s good. He takes photos for Vice so there should be nuff angry looking hot girls.
We’re also putting pressure on some good friends to play a live set. If that comes off then this shit is going to blow up like a highschool kegger. More info on that soon.
So the long and short is - we’re going to play music and hopefully people will go nuts. In terms of haircuts, outfits, music and crowd reaction we’re hoping it’ll go something like this…
This Saturday sees the return of StreetFest to east London. The last two installments of this unique live art/fashion/music event were a huge success, and Second Son have been asked to put on a fashion show this time round.
Now we’re not too well versed in the art of vogueing and Blue Steel, so we’ve put together something a little different featuring the catwalk prowess of Nash Money and Raskitt and performances from Professor Green, Session and Reeps One.
We were also invited by Adidas to create 8 pairs of Second Son kicks using their ‘mi Originals’ system, all of which will be shown for the first time on Saturday.
The fashion show will start at 7pm and we’ll also have a stall set up where you can get your hands on Second Son products including the very last of our new Spitfire and Deer Hunter button-up shirts. The event also features live art from the likes of Mergs and Secret Wars alongside music, independent film and skate demos on a 30ft vert ramp.

If you’re a pikey like me then you’ve probably been into Spotify for time now. It’s like iTunes but for free. Granted you have to listen to a few adverts but aside from that it’s pretty special.
So from now on we’re going to be dropping Second Son playlists on the regular so you can hear how mad eclectic our music taste is. I’ll be dropping some country and rock joints shortly but in the meantime here’s some hip-hop, farty beats and even some French 60’s pop courtesy of Jaques Dutronc.
But a word of warning - these are playlists, not mixtapes or anything remotely similar so don’t expect continuity. And it takes a couple of minutes to upload. Holla. Drop Beats Not Bombs HERE.
Now I’d hate people to think that we like to capitalise on people’s deaths because it ain’t how we roll. That said, today’s post follows hot on the heals of Mr. MJ’s departure and is all about the late / great Mr. ODB. A good while back we dropped the Ol’ Dirty tee as a little nod to our favourite member of the Wu. It’s been a big seller and we even got one over to GZA a while back. However hard we’ve tried we’ve never managed to get one over to our new favourite member of the WU - Ghostface….quite simply we just don’t mix in the same circles. So I was pretty stoked a while back to spot this shot on Facebook of DJ Lomang sporting the tee with the man himself. Read the rest of the post for a very honest and funny look at life behind the decks at a GFK concert. Thanks Lomang!

This week saw the passing of one of, if not the greatest superstars of all time, Michael Jackson. Like so many people around the world we were all deeply moved and upset by the man’s untimely death, as fans of his songs and as respectful witnesses to the exponential impact he had on music, fashion and culture.
The Thriller tee, part of this season’s Occult Status Spring/Summer collection, was born out of that impact. As kids of the 80s when Jackson was at the height of his fame, albums like Thriller and Bad were premier editions to young and burgeoning record collections. In anticipation of his upcoming London tour dates, it felt like the perfect time to pay homage to one of our childhood heroes.
In the wake of his unexpected passing, Rufus and I caught wind of a tribute Flashmob-moonwalk at Liverpool Street station, and decided to head down with an arm full of Thriller Tees to give away, have a boogie MJ style, and share what turned out to be a fantastic tribute to the King of Pop. Finding our way on to CNN was somewhat of a ‘happy accident’, but I think you’ll agree Jacko’s moves are alive and well in the form of Rufus Exton…
